Jennifer’s experience working at a veterinary hospital persuaded her to come home one evening, beginning to experiment with different concepts in our own kitchen. With her consistent exposure at the clinic, seeing the compassion clients have for their fur babies; she wanted to create treats that were made with fresh ingredients, avoiding added preservatives. These test treats would soon be taken back, to be shared with all of the furry faces she sees each and every day.
For a period of time, I had been working in the corporate world; constantly brainstorming the thought of starting my own business. With Jennifer’s idea, my exposure to retail/wholesale industries, and our love for animals; we cultivated the Doggie Style Gourmet Treats brand.
In the beginning, we pursued a massive amount of research; both on what ingredients could be harmful, as well as what ingredients would be the best to add to our product. In addition, we had the expertise from various doctors at the clinic, ensuring that our treats would be ideal to feed to household pets. As a result, Jennifer and I collectively came up with 8 different recipes of natural ingredients. We even perfected a mixture for our pupcakes, which have been a great addition to our lineup!
We also enjoy being involved within our community; working with organizations that are in need of donations to raise money. We have given to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, Zaria’s Pink Ladies, and are currently assisting a customer seeking a personal donation. Our 5 star reviews on our Facebook page instill the fact that we don’t believe in compromise; from start to finish. Dogs that are picky eaters love our snacks; each with different flavors, made to custom order, and paws down…the best you can find in town (or out too)!
Jennifer has 2 dogs, Porsha (a Doberman) and Basil (a Dachshund). I have Ginger (a Rez Dog Rescue). Together, they are all very excited to be our taste testers in the kitchen. Not only do our “best friends” love these treats; but so have many others throughout the Billings community…and even across North America! We are proud to guarantee satisfaction to any package with the Doggie Style Gourmet Treats name. Every item is human-grade, allowing us to sample each batch ourselves. Our family’s appreciation for the outdoors has prompted these flavors to match a healthy oat snack. Something that you would most likely enjoy while exploring the backcountry of Montana; a place that we are honored to call home.
